Static Pickup units transfer ultrasonic signals from ultrasonic tension sensors to MC950. The surrounding magnet attaches itself to the bolt head while the centered spring-loaded probe of the pickup touches an exposed surface of the sensor. A temperature sensor is embedded in some of the pickup units to measure the bolt temperature. The MC950 uses the temperature data to compensate for elongation due to the temperature changes.
Overview
External Hex Head Pickup Unit
External Hex Head pickup units are designed to pick up ultrasonic signals from UTensor II sensors glued to the head of the hex head bolts. The surrounding magnet attaches itself to the bolt head while the centered spring-loaded probe of the pickup touches an exposed surface of the UTensor II, which is glued to the bolt. A temperature sensor is embedded in the unit to measure the bolt temperature. The MC950 uses the temperature data to compensate for elongation due to the temperature changes.
Range -40 to +100 degree C.
